Pair Vintage Signed Earle Chapman Man Woman Adam Eve Tropical Table Bar Lamps

Description: (More pics below)  A killer pair of hand signed Earle Chapman original Adam & Eve / Tropical Lovers table lamps from the late 40's- early 50's. Both are signed on the bases and have the original labels on the bottoms (see pics).  These are original designs of founder, Earle Chapman, of the world-famous and prestigious Chapman Lighting Company.

These cool retro lamps have been recently restored and are gorgeous!  The man is carrying an armful of what looks like palm fronds and the woman has her arms full of tropical flowers. Just a pair of lovers making a home on a deserted island.

The tropical island theme was very big right after WWII (probably because so many soldiers came back from the South Pacific) and many people did their "rumpus rooms", home bars, and rathskellers in a tiki hut island style.

Today these would be perfect behind a retro bar on a covered lanai! Just add some paper lanterns and daquiri glasses!

CONDITION:  These lamps have been recently restored and are in beautiful condition.  There is one chip in the man's base near the signature (see pic) but it was painted over and blends in.  It isn't noticeable unless you know to look on the bottom of the back of the lamp.  The insides of the sockets and switches have been replaced but the dark original outer covers of the sockets are still in place to keep the vintage look (see pics).  The wires and plugs are still original.  Style of plugs indicate late 40's era (see pic).  Both light up fine (see pics).

DIMENSIONS:  30 1/2" to top of harp,  22 3/4" to top of sockets.  Bases are 6" across.  Man is 18 1/4" tall, woman is 17 3/4" tall.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  The original oval scalloped silk shades are available to the buyer at no cost other than separate shipping costs.  But if the shades are not requested by the buyer, they will not be included.  They are very old shades with some climate stains and one has a very small tear, but if you're looking for the totally vintage look they are available, if you pay for the separate shipping costs.
