Here is where sellers can list any catch-all policies about their booth. If any of this information is essential to the buying process, the seller will also mention that within their item description -- so don't sweat it if you don't make a habit of looking at the details for every booth!

Booth overview

Many on-line booksellers describe their books using a grading system but I don’ t since almost always these are NEW or like mint copies (except where offered as a used edition). Not all books will be in publisher’s wrap and occasionally there may be may be very minor imperfections such as minor shelf wear. I always try to note these.

We sell high quality material- no book club editions or ex-library . You will never get a beat-up or abused copy – - and you will be satisfied. If you are not, I’ll make it good.

A Note about Shipping and Handling Costs:

I have sold books for a fraction of the prices you’ll find at even the best discounted merchants. While you may find a similar title listed for less, the chances are that the shipping and handling charges will marginalize that “bargain”.. And so called “Free shipping”?, Well, don’t you love paying three times what you should? Be careful of “standard rate shipping”, it may mean you will pay more for the item itself.

So shipping costs can be problematic and I have been vexed over this because I do not want you to pay a dime more than the actual cost of shipping. Some items show a flat rate, and I am trying to get to all the items to edit them so that everything is calculated.

Almost always, unless you request otherwise, book(s) will be shipped by MEDIA MAIL. This is a weight based service and I try to be accurate. Shipping rates are estimated by default: I will REFUND any amount you overpaid after shipping ( excluding the nominal handling charge).

International Shipments will normally be mailed using International First Class (what used to be called Economy). This is a relatively good service and you will be charged actual costs plus a minor handling charge.

For faster delivery I recommend INTERNATIONAL FLAT RATE PRIORITY MAIL. This is generally okay for most books but the book must fit into a especially sized envelope, so large books or over sized books will not generally fit. Also, the service is not available for every country.

Since international buyers have to pay more for shipping, I do not charge a handling fee on shipments outside the US.

Fiction: Almost always new. There is a First Edition category but these will be scarcer books.

Feedback: Most welcomed. But use common sense : please don’t be deterred by an occasional negative ; you just can’t please everyone. Some customers are just nut jobs, feeling compelled to yield this tool (feedback) without making an attempt to contact me — bad form. Negative feedback is deleterious; you can always contact me and you will receive an answer. Please contact me first if you are not pleased, or if there is a problem of ANY sort.

A SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT TEXTBOOKS: Textbooks are problematic for me so I have elected to list them as new. Some may actually be used copies but in new condition. These books sell upwards of a hundred dollars in college bookstores. But unlike them, I don’t believe in extortion and have priced them realistically.

A NOTE ABOUT NEW BOOKS THAT ARE NOT RECENTLY PUBLISHED: Some books listed as new are indeed new, but were published several years ago. These are from new old stock, meaning that the book has never been used but may have wear from long term storage.

A NOTE ABOUT ANTIQUARIAN AND COLLECTIBLE BOOKS: Since the proper evaluation can not be done without several detailed photos, they will be provided upon inquiry or expression of interest.

Refunds:
I have no set policy since every case is different but I guarantee satisfaction. Refunds for delivery or condition problems that may arise must be requested by email within 5 days of receipt of the item. Returns are only allowed if the item differs significantly from the description in the listing. I make every effort to accommodate you. I have voluntarily refunded when inadvertently paid twice or when the postage was not the actual amount. In general: no fuss, and no problem.

Seller assumes no responsibility in the event of loss or damage of uninsured items. I recommend that the buyer purchase insurance for high value items.
. I will not charge for books destined to US service personnel stationed in a combat zone. Pay only S&H, and my Bonanzle fee.

International Customers:

I enjoy doing business with you! I would appreciate it if Canadian buyers use Postal Money Order in US FUNDS, please. Please see above notes about shipping methods. Note: This is the time to buy books – the dollar is down and the post office M bag for shipping makes it possible to ship about ten pounds of books .very reasonably. I am always interested in hearing from foreign sellers who may wish to buy in quantities- in fact, I will discount larger shipments.

Shipping policy

Books will be shipped via MEDIA MAIL unless another service is requested and paid for. I do not normally insure items unless requested and that charge is additional on items under a hundred dollars. In the rare event of damage in transit on uninsured items, a fair and equitable way of handling it seems to be to share the loss since . It is unfair to ask you to bear the full burden, and equally unfair to expect me to since the damage could have caused anywhere between my door and yours. I will absorb half the loss, and you the remaining half of the cost including the shipping. Please do not ask me to bear the full responsibility for causes over which I have no control.

Return policy

Returns are not a problem as long as they are requested soon after the receipt of an item.
