Buyer notifications

Am I correct in stating that Bonanza automatically sends an email to a buyer when they’ve made a purchase, a payment, and when an item has been shipped as well as the tracking number if one has been provided?

Is there anywhere where such notifications can be checked? Anything that should be toggled like “Buyer receives emails from Bonanza” or “Restrict emails from Bonanza”.

Is there something on PayPal that should be checked to see if a seller has restricted Bonanza to send emails to buyers?

Is this making any sense? :/

I prefer the personalization of sending MY OWN notifications to MY BUYERS, rather than having it done by a third party.

Bonanza automatically sends all of the above…we used to have the options to have the notification of shipping and tracking sent, but too many buyers were contacting bonanza about not getting shipping and tracking information, so that also became automatic when we mark as shipped/and/or add tracking …

There are Notification preferences under your account settings, for other things. You can check there for to check the options

My Bonanza
Account settings (first link, left hand column)
Notification Preferences

There is nothing you need to set in paypal..if a purchase is made to your account you are notified…as the buyer is notified that he made a purchase through his/her own account/or credit card (through pp option)

In addition to any email notifications that a buyer gets from Bonanza, I also reply to the PayPal notification that I get (the reply gets sent to the buyer’s payment email address^) thanking the buyer for their purchase and letting them know when the product is being shipped. My reply also tells them that the tracking info will be sent to them after the shipping label is generated (since I use PayPal to create and pay for the shipping labels).

Since I ship my items out no later than the next day, and because they get a reply indicating when the items will be shipped, I have NEVER had a buyer contact me asking about their shipment. If they do reply back, it’s usually to say thanks for the shipping update.

^ I know that some buyers use a different email address for their payments (unlike sellers who may use a secondary email address to accept payments) and may not check that email account all the time… but I believe that it is a very small percentage.

Yes, you can set those up – I prefer to notify my buyers individually rather than use a ‘canned’ response. No problem with buyers contacting me about shipments.

That’s what I thought. I always message my buyers after they make a purchase. I think them for the purchase, their payment, and when the item will be shipped as well as a tracking number. Recently, Bonanza emailed me and said they were unable to email a buyer because an email wasn’t provided. And that I should check my settings to see if I have restrict emails from Bonanza. I was unaware of such an option and turns out there is no option. I have no idea what they were getting at. I rarely get any responses from buyers but I never get notifications that a buyer didn’t get confirmation of a purchase or tracking number. I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing something. Thank you for all your responses. You helped verify my account question.

“And that I should check my settings to see if I have restrict emails from Bonanza. " Bonz Support might be referring to your outside email settings, not your Bonanza settings. (I have no idea why those previous two posts ^ got here.
