I feel for you man!! It was 101 here yesterday – and that’s very unusual for upstate NY.

Being from I-81 Frackville, PA, I would agree, very unusual.

Well, at least it’s in plain English _

96 here today (felt like 106), and been like that all week. My work’s dress code is long pants (of course there’s little or no detectable AC at the front end) and someone came up with a summer ‘back to basics’ policy of (among other things, but this is the most harebrained) no drinks at the registers.

We’re “only” in about the mid-90’s today but HUMID! For here, anyway!
Still seems odd to see temps in the rest of the country that are at or above our “normal” for this time of year.

77 degrees and raining here, near Tampa. It seems like the weather gods are on drugs this year.

Hi Sheeney and Shar! Your temps look like ours here in K.C. It’s been horrid and school starts August 11th! We have no grass only brown weeds!

Always HOT here, would love some rain just keeps getting detoured or lost. We’ve been in the high 90’s all week, most days around 98; will be back up to the triple digits by this weekend.

it’s gray high overcast 69 degrees and the humidity is somewhere between 40 and 60 % depending which airport you look at Bend or Redmond. I don’t think we have tipped the 100 degree mark officially this year. though it is still early for us.

Earth’s climate changes periodically, or we would still be in the Ice Age. The Earth is also expanding as the core cools. No one knows for sure what’s going to happen.

You may certainly have some of our rain, it has poured buckets last evening and today. 69 degrees here which is just fine with me. However this is the third clean out of the storm drains! Just let me know how much you want, there is talk everywhere of the drought and what it will do to food prices. Have the feeling the freezer and canner, (from the garden veggies) will get a work out this year.

Just stuck by trusty wall dial thermometer outside, within 5 minutes it registered 106 degrees.

@Critter don’t think my water hose will stretch all the way over to you. That is about the only way we are getting rain here.

@Arise I know what you mean about the skeeters and the ants they have been bad here too.

@Autumn I am jealous of those temps. Would love those temps here. Wouldn’t like cleaning out the storm drains for the 3rd time. I bet your freezer and canner will get a really good workout.

So hot even the grasshoppers are trying to get in to sit by the Air Conditioner.

I know how you feel Sheeny. However we did get a little shower lasted a whole 15 minutes cooled off for a little while. Now maybe the grasshoppers will stay outside.

Whether the weather be fine

Or whether the weather be not

Whether the weather be cold

Or whether the weather be hot

We’ll weather the weather

Whatever the weather

Whether we like it or not.

@Sheenys-Shack I ditto that
Here in Wisconsin we technically didn’t have any rain north of Milwaukee. Everywhere around us was something going on but not here. Our grass looks like desert, our trees and bushes are dying, very bad.

Can you imagine what it’s like in Oklahoma and a lot of other places south of the Mason Dixon?

One thing is for sure the climate is changing in a bad way. Very unusual winter, just one month of snow. Spring started in March, I don’t know what to think about it.

Cute poem Shennys had to read it twice, but yes it is so true.

We never really had a winter here just rain like we do in Spring. Of course we haven’t had a good soaking rain in quite awhile. At least this July 4th I didn’t have to go out and stomp the fires out in my front pasture.

@hoppyeshopper, Don’t feel bad our bushes, trees, flowers are dying here too. Even plants that can take the heat are having a problem. Watering them doesn’t really do any good, just goes straight through. Some grass is still green but maybe not for very long.
