http://www.bonanza.com/blog/main/Lexity_Live_is_Live__and_other_Updates albeit we are not given any specifics as to wether it is all products, adwords, or if there will be a future cost (iMO; THAT’S ok) THIS BLOG IS GOOD. Now if we could be m a bit more detailed in exactly what all the jargon boils down to. |

Indeed Barns, that is why I stated what I said in the blog, If there is a cost for sellers involved then I want to know ASAP, I start my holiday preparing for sales at the end of August, new products coming out and I do not want to wait till Oct./Nov./Dec to find out what is going on I am not complaining here, I just would like to know the bottom line of what it is going to cost me ..“Pay to Play” I would hope that the cost via bonz will be better/cheaper than elsewhere CritterCreekRanch's booth |

I believe the Boyz know how important these next couple of weeks are to all of use gearing up for the holidays. Let’s stay optimistic that we’ll have more info very soon. And I agree, I’d be willing, in theory, to pay to play. Just need to understand what that payment might be and what it will do for me. Abby's Attic |

Yes JG we all are in the business of selling and need this info NOW because NOW is the time for sellers to line their ducks up for Fall sales that are happening NOW. Sometimes Bonanza seems to forget this, they are not invested sellers. They are site owners. Thus this thread is here. But let’s please keep it here… if ya catch my drift. ANd yes js we know you a so great at marketing, blogging, and being on top as usual; but there are many of us that are not and depend on Bonz/Google to help us there BARNTIQUES859's Antiques, Vintage Collectibles, & Junque |

I really appreciate the google search, but don’t know if I could afford to pay a fee. I have a small amount of products online…it all depends on my health at the time. I hope we know asap as to a fee or no fee. Happydaze Lane Collectibles |

well daylily, you are not alone. Personally, I feel I have to spend to sell and with this site being so little in costs it is a no brainer for me. Google’s decision will make many sellers in your situation either step up or down; there is no doubt about it. If Bonz does this right you may still have a home for a tad bit more; which if considered carefully, is still a better deal than elsewhere. sometimes one must spend a buck to make ten. I too would like to know what Bonanza will be doing. I would like to direct some sellers on another site I am selling on to this site but I sure hate to direct them here and they get slapped with a big fee that was not anticipated. decoratewithlace's booth |

bharding says: Hey keno, sofy, momspennies, et. al: Yes. We are currently paying for all Bonanza items to be featured in Google Shopping. In the process of doing so, we are also building systems that will soon help our sellers customize the level of advertising they want to receive for their items. We take our responsibility to stay ahead of the curve seriously, which is why we want Bonanza to be the first marketplace to be fully integrated with the new GS landscape. bonanzamark says in response: In short, you do not need to join Lexity to have your items make it into Google Shopping. There are no charges associated with using Lexity on Bonanza in its current capacity. As Bill mentions in the blog, “Lexity is also known for their well-crafted tools that help make advertising easy for sellers — we’re excited to see their progress as they incorporate the power of Lexity advertising into their Bonanza integration. I suspect they will have many more great tools to offer our sellers in the future.” BARNTIQUES859's Antiques, Vintage Collectibles, & Junque |

Evidently there is no additional cost to Bonz sellers at this time; Bonz is “picking up the tab.” Mark has written: “Bonanza is paying to be in there. We have stepped up our advertising on our side to make up for any traffic lost to the 100% paid model.” This might come as some comfort to those who were concerned that Bonz was not interested in advertising. I pay a monthly membership fee (silver) because I like some of the extra perks. To me, given the choices that google has shoved down our throats, being in GS would be a ‘perk’ and I’m willing to pay a little extra for it. But, with the slow sales, I’d have to set a time limit as to how long I could pay extra. I’d be good through the end of the year to see if it makes a difference in sales, and if not I’d have to make some decisions. But I’m in for now. kenoticket's booth |

so the big question is: if Lexity is to pick up the slack of advertising above whatever Bonz is working out with Google: what will our options be in this payment for ads be and will it be affordable and what type of advertising will Lexity be doing. so far none of their offerrings are affordable for me with a decent size booth. |

Folks, we need to face the fact, the era of free advertising for us as business owners is about to come to an end. It is going to cost to sell online. How much, only God knows. Bonanza cannot do what they say they are currently working on for nothing. We are just fooling ourselves if we think that everything is going to continue to be free and we can go on with business as usual. When will this happen, who knows, how much will it be, that is the big question. I for one am going to not bury my head in the sand and think everything is going to remain free, because it will not. Wish that were the case but I must be realistic and plan for all the adjustments if I want to continue to sell online. decoratewithlace's booth |

First of all, there is no connection between Lexity and Bonz advertising at the present time. There may be no “slack” to pick up, and whether there is any depends on your point of view. Agreed that the explanations from Mark thus far lacking in some specifics, and I have asked for some more detail. Does Bonz pay per item listed, per click, or what. Based on what I think I know about the cost of listing for an individual seller with a web site, it would appear that the cost of listing everything on Bonz would be prohibitive; so I am guessing that Bonz got some kind of “wholesale” deal, but I don’t know. However, Bonz says the integration with Google is now complete. If this is true, then we are already in Google Shopping, and may forget about the deadline sometime in the Fall. I can say that, when using Google Shopping, my stuff shows well. Makin' Tracks! |

“Yes. We are currently paying for all Bonanza items to be featured in Google Shopping. In the process of doing so, we are also building systems that will soon help our sellers customize the level of advertising they want to receive for their items.” It sounds like they are going to be including users in Google services based on their membership status. Because who would “customize their level of advertising” to less than the full extent of what is available? Sparkle Motion |

That’s pretty much how I read it Sparkle. I believe they are most likely going to make “packages” for sellers to choose from for different levels of being seen in Google. Perhaps something along the lines of “25 of your items show for this much” type of thing. For now we are all going to have to do what we’ve been doing, wait and see. We still have a bit of time before the Oct 1st or there abouts, shows up RAYVEN'S RARITIES' |

I have been out of online selling for quite a while. The concern for me down the road would be the cost to play. 99.5% of the items that I sold were under $40 including shipping. Not much profit there to pay for advertising unless it was simply a higher FOV cost when something did sell. That I could probably live with. The Corner Stone Cowboy |

I don’t know what to think…as Cindy said above, it is clear as mud. I feel like I am trying to decipher legalese, where there is an air of mystery as to what was done, is being done, and will be done in the future. I’m one of those proof is in the pudding peeps who expects to see results for anything done as an improvement. Otherwise, it was a waste of both money and time. But i agree, we need to know specifics so we can make decisions about what we have to do to ensure profits during the holiday rush. This will be our fourth year here @ Bonanza, and it is time for those numbers to start increasing. At least if we had specifics, we’d know where we stood and what else we need to be doing to make sure this happens. Keeping my fingers crossed here, for me, and for all of you as well. This is gonna be a Make or Break year for many of us I’m sure. Moms Pennies From Heaven |

I’m hoping Bill will offer more clarity as to what to expect, at least something generalized, so that we can make plans accordingly. I have to decide whether to keep 5 booths open or merge all into one based on what the anticipated fees will be. This is something I can’t wait to do until Oct 1st..it takes time. PLEASE BILL help us out sofyblu2 |

Right now we’re focused on trying to get our Google Shopping integration working as smoothly as possible. When we’re done, my hope is that if a seller has great inventory (and a high conversion rate for buyer clicks) that we’ll be able to pay for their advertising at little to no cost to them. But whatever plan we ultimately end up going with for our advertising, we will continue to allow our sellers to be in charge of how much they want to pay. We will get you as much traffic as we can for 3.5%, and if you want to pay more, then we’ll get you as much traffic as we can for whatever you want to pay. We understand that different sellers have different margins to work with for their inventory, we don’t want to force anyone to pay us if their budget doesn’t allow for that. It has been our main project of the last month to figure out how to get our sellers as much traffic as possible in the “new world order” that Google has brought about. I’m confident that we’ll be able to build the best integration out there, and once we have, I’ll be able to blog about the details on how it works. At this point, we’re still gathering and analyzing data though. What we know so far is that our early efforts to get integrated into GS are getting us as many clicks and conversions as we had with Google Product Search. I’m definitely excited about the new opportunity this transition brings for us. Any time that the world of ecommerce shifts, Bonanza is in pole position to reap the rewards, since our team gets stuff done faster than any other marketplace. |
