Vintage crochet pattern from 1953 "Crocheted Braided Suit". It uses Columbia Marcelaine or Minerva Velveen in "Miami Beige" color.

Size: 12. 14, 16, 18, 20
Bust: 30, 32, 34, 36, 38 inches
Waist: 25, 26½, 28, 30, 32 inches
Hip: 33, 35, 37, 39, 41 inches

Materials Required:
Yarn - Columbia Marcelaine, (1 ounce balls) OR Minerva Velveen (1 ounce balls)
*Skirt 17 (18-19-19-20) balls
*Jacket 18 (18-19-19-20) balls
Boye Steel crochet hook, Size 1
5 yards narrow braid of contrasting color
5-¾ inch buttons

Gauge:
7 stitches and 7 rows = 1 inch

Columbia Marcelaine was a fingering weight yarn. 71% wool, 29% rayon. It was sold in 1 oz ball - ab. 155 yds/ball

Minerva Velveen was a novelty yarn. 65% virgin wool/35% rayon. 300 yard, 2 fold - 2 ounce balls.
