Description:  We are very pleased to offer this GORGEOUS floral stripe in the most amazing color. Looks so contemporary but is actually a 200+ year-old design from the Waterhouse archives. Waterhouse boasts one of the finest collections of circa 1700-1920 wallpapers. These papers were designed and often hand-painted by the most accomplished artists of their day and are truly works of art.

Dorothy Waterhouse spent years traveling the New England Countryside searching trunks, attics, and even closets of old homesteads for fragments of the original papers. The papers she found hidden, often under layers of paint or wallpaper, are the basis for this outstanding collection and an important part of the American heritage. Because each design is a work of art, each design is not only timeless, but also always in good taste, serving as the perfect setting for any decorating style.

Use with antique linens and primitive style furniture for a country chic look or with a chrome and dark brown leather (real or faux, we won't tell!) with a dash of coral, orange, hot pink, or turquoise for contemporary panache. Pair it with mahogany, walnut, oak, or painted furniture. Add a plush velvet covered settee for a Victorian parlor or add cream woodwork and moldings with cream damask draperies (appropriately trimmed in luxurious fringes and tassels) for a formal federal style Jefferson would have approved of. The possibilities with this paper are endless. (It looks very elegant with black, burgundy, white, and dark teal and cozy with an autumn palette of gold, rust, green, and a touch of deep purple -- we could get carried away with this one but we've got other items to list for you!) If you would like more inspiration, see the Restoration Fabrics and Trims link at the bottom of this listing to complete your decor or ask us if you would like some help putting this together with just the right fabrics to create a room that reflects your individual style.

HOW MUCH WALLPAPER DO I NEED?
Although it varies by number of doors and windows and pattern match, it takes, on AVERAGE, 10 rolls to paper the walls in an 8 x 10 room with 8 ft. high ceilings. The same room with 10 ft. high ceilings would need 12 rolls. To paper the walls of an average 10 x 14 room with 8 ft. ceilings you will need, in general, a minimum of 14 rolls. If you have 10 ft. ceilings and a 16 x 20 room, you will likely need a minimum of 26 rolls. You should use an on-line wallpaper calculator to determine your exact needs. There are several available, including one at http://diy.easy2.com/. I always like to add a roll or two so I have extra just in case I cut a piece incorrectly or for things like lining drawers or shelves, or even papering a closet to match the room.
Please see our other listings for more high-end decorator exclusive offerings. Many of these items are a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to purchase (at HUGE savings) the quality wallcoverings and other items that are usually available only to the trade — to top notch high-end interior designers.
