Vintage German Porcelain Half Doll Pin Cushion 4346 Germany
Hand Painted
German Pincushion Doll
Victorian Woman
Blonde Hair
Extended Arm
Early 1900s

This is a lovely vintage German pincushion half doll top. She has golden blonde hair piled up on her head with a dark brown headband. Her body is a glazed ivory white porcelain. She is wearing an embossed off the shoulder corset camisole garment. Her hands are crossed in a demure, modest pose on her chest, one arm extends from her body. She is numbered with an impressed 4346 on the lower part of her back and marked Germany. She has a sweet and beautifully hand painted face, blushing cheeks and delicate and finely detailed features. She has lovely blue eyes and rose colored lips. She is approximately 3 ¾ inches tall and 2 ¼ inches wide from elbow to elbow. These dolls have no legs as they were meant to be used to adorn a pincushion or to have a dress added to them. There are 4 holes (2 in front and 2 in back) for fastening to a lower body or pin cushion either by sewing or wiring.

She is in wonderful vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged pictures. There are no chips or cracks, but there is a little roughness along her rim where she would be attached and a few spots and imperfections on the body that are from when she was made, not damage. She is most likely from the early 1900s when they were so popular.

This would make a wonderful starter piece for a new collector as well as for someone looking to upgrade a chipped or cracked piece in this series. It would also be lovely sitting on your dressing table or dresser, these are very collectible and because they are small make a stunning display.
