At the north end of the San Francisco peninsula is an area known as the Presidio which used to be a military establishment. The large air field that used to be here was reclaimed and turned into Crissy Field Park, opened to grateful families and dogs in 2001. The Presidio is also the origin of the engineering marvel and world landmark Golden Gate Bridge (opened 1937). The bridge spans the mile wide, turbulent, and treacherous Golden Gate Strait. The park is also home to Farallones National Marine Sanctuary Museum. Join Eric watching vibrant, mirthful kites dancing on the pacific winds.
