This is an adorable and rare vintage stuffed Corduroy Deer or Baby Fawn. I have not been able to find another like it. This little fawn is most likely from the 1960s, although it may be older than that. The deer has a blue ribbon tied around it's neck. It has a red tongue sticking out of the side of the mouth, felt eyes in white, black and gray, a black nose and pink lined ears and tail. There are black felt spots on the body. It stands by itself and is approximately 7 inches tall. It has the original Japan tag on it's stomach.
It is in excellent vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs, there are no tears or wear to the fabric. There is a tiny bit of fraying on the end of the ribbon. It makes me think of Bambi and Feline from the Walt Disney Movie and may have been based on that story. I tried finding a similar stuffed animal made by Kamar of Japan, but I could not find one.
The little fawn would make a great addition to your collection of vintage toys or animals. Being handmade it is truly a one of a kind stuffed animal.
