Harris G. Strong (Am. 1920 - 2006) -
Abstract metal wall plaque.
This is a framed metal relief sculpture by internationally known and well listed artist Harris G. Strong (Am. 1920 - 2006). The subject matter is a geometric abstract, the form created from bronze tone metal.
Mr. Strong, trained as a chemical engineer, was known for his innovative design and hand painted tiles from the 1950's. He began producing wall art in the 1970's and produced prints, serigraphs, woodcuts, etchings, engravings, collage and paintings.
This high end piece titled "Br-1" is in excellent condition. The metal relief probably produced c. 1970 at the artists studio in Trenton ME. It's professionally framed, possibly by the artist and has the artist's label affixed to the back. The shadow box frame appears to be original. The piece is float mounted and is double matted under glass. It measures 18" X 17"X 3" framed.
