Offered is this cheery Louisville Stoneware pitcher, handmade (on the potters wheel) and hand painted in the Country Flower pattern. The trim on this piece is yellow, and the base is a light grey stoneware (stoneware is a type of pottery fired to a high temperature). In excellent preowned condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. This pattern was made over several decades and discontinued in the early 2000’s. This is a nice example of contemporary American art pottery. Bottom is marked "Louisville Stoneware - Made in Kentucky". Oven, freezer, dishwasher and microwave safe.

Louisville Pottery was founded in 1815, making it one of the oldest stoneware companies in the United States. Clay used by the company comes from western Indiana. Products made at the factory are safe for use in ovens, microwave ovens, and dishwashers, and can retain heat for keeping food warm.
