From Southern Utah, a Septarian cabochon stone set in sterling silver and accented with a cubic zirconia. Handmade bezel and mounting, with a window so the stone is visible from the back. A heavy gauge triangle shaped sterling metal wire was shaped into a moon crescent and soldered onto the side of the mounting. A six prong gemstone setting was then soldered onto the tip of the crescent shape wire so that it sits snugly between the bottom of the stone and wire. For the pendant to be perfectly balanced, the crescent shaped metal piece and the six prong setting was carefully positioned and then soldered. Once all the soldering was completed, the Septarian stone and cubic zirconia was set, bail was added, and the sterling metal was given a brushed finish.

Septarian is an unusual and beautiful stone from which beads, cabochons, carvings, and spheres are made from. Septarian stones were formed millions of years ago, when the Gulf of Mexico reached the Southern portion of Utah. When the ocean receded, many marine fossils were left trapped within the cracks of these rocks forming calcite crystals and Aragonite minerals. The yellow portion of the rock is calcite and the brown portion is Aragonite. Most Septarian nodules are solid, but some contain small and large cavities lined with calcite crystals.

Septarian metaphysical qualities are in aiding in communication, for grounding and blocking negative energy. It's also said to help in overall healing and health.
