This is an adorable and delicate sterling silver articulated owl pendant. I am including a 23 ½ inch long chain that is marked sterling on the jump rings. The pendant is signed and hallmarked on the back JC Ferrara. J & C Ferrara was founded in 1954 by Carl Ferrara. It was located in North Attleboro, Massachusetts. It is the company that was contracted by the Hershey Chocolate Company to make figural pieces of their chocolate kisses. The company has an excellent reputation for creating wonderful handcrafted jewelry. 

This delicate articulated owl measures approximately 1 ¾ inches in length and 1 inch wide. It consists of three segments that are joined together with jump rings that allow it to move. The combined weight is .30 ounces on my postage scale, which converts to 8.50 grams. This is most likely from the 1960s to 1970s when owl pendants were so popular.

The owl and chain are both in excellent vintage condition as you can see by the photographs. The owl has a little patina to it, but I will leave it up to you if you wish to polish it. The chain is brighter silver than the owl. Please look at the photos as they are part of the description and show the details better than I can describe.

This would be the perfect gift for anyone’s owl collection, a bird watcher or someone who appreciates a beautiful piece of wearable art. It would look lovely with a little black dress or your favorite pair of jeans.
