Vintage Krementz Bird Flight Flying Figural Pin Brooch Gold Signed
New Jersey United States Company Designer
Art Deco Style
Stylized Hummingbird
Outstretched Wings
Goldtone Metal

The Krementz and Company NJ, was founded in 1886 and produced mostly collar buttons and jewelry items for men. In the 1920s they started making women's jewelry and are still in business today.

This lovely and elegant bird brooch or pin has a wonderful Art Deco or Art Nouveau look to it. It is signed KREMENTZ on the pin stem on the back. Next to Krementz is something that appears to be a logo, but I am unable to make it out. This stylized gold tone bird in flight measures approximately 2 1/4 inches tall and 1 1/2 inches wide. I couldn't decide what type of bird it represents, at first I thought Hummingbird, but it could be any kind, all I can say is it is exquisite with it's graceful figure and outstretched wings.

The 1960 ads for Krementz Jewelry state that their jewelry is; "Fashioned in the tradition of precious jewelry, designs by Krementz have lasting, classic beauty. Superbly made with a heavy overlay of 14 Kt. Gold, this fine jewelry has all of the richness and much of the permanence of solid gold.”

This brooch is in excellent condition. The pin stem could be a little longer as it doesn't sit very deep into the rollover safety clasp, it does work though. There is a tiny bit of wear on the pin stem, barely noticeable unless it is magnified as in the enlarged pictures (I think you can see it if you look closely).

This is a must have brooch for any bird lover or a perfect addition to your collection of vintage jewelry.
