This is a large black and gold enameled brooch depicting a graceful woman gymnast, acrobat or dancer, and is signed “MYSTIQUE” on the back. It was designed in an Art Deco style,  It manages to capture the look from a by-gone era beautifully. It measures approximately 2 ¼ inches wide and 2 ½ inches tall.  It is beautifully done and would be perfect for anyone involved in performing arts or athletic sport competition. This is a book piece and can be found on page 162 of "Warman's Costume Jewelry Figurals Identification and Price Guide" Copyright 1970 by Kathy Flood. The estimated price value in the book ranges from $50 to $100.

It is in nice vintage condition with a beautiful shine as you can see by the enlarged photographs. It has a rollover clasp on the back that works just fine, but the pin itself has a slight bend to it (curved) and it has a wobble where the pin is hinged. There are a few tiny surface marks and scratches on the front in the black enamel, but you don't really notice them without magnification. There is little if any finish loss of the gold back; it seems to be only on the pin itself. Please look at the photos as they are part of the description and show the details better than I can describe.

The brooch is a beautiful piece to add to your collection of wearable art. It is a large pin that is sure to be noticed and is definitely statement jewelry.
