This is an adorable Dolphin pin or brooch from Taxco, Mexico. It is hand crafted in Sterling Silver and inset with black enamel along it's back. I thought at first it was Black Onyx, but I'm pretty sure it is enamel. It is signed or marked on the back TB-03 (twice) and 925. This is probably from the 1980s. They started using the letter system for identification in 1979. the T stands for Taxco, the B for the silversmith and the 03 represents the silversmith's number (example the 3rd Smith with the intial B).

It is in great vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged pictures. It has a darker patina on the back,  I didn't polish it, I will leave that up to you if you so desire. I'm sure it will shine up beautifully. It has a few tiny surface marks that you only see under magnification, normal for older sterling silver.  It has a cute smiling face with lots of personality. It measures 2 1/8 inches long and is almost 1 1/2 inches from the top fin to the end of the tail. It has a safety clasp on the back. It weighs .3 ounces on my Postage Scale, which converts to 8.5 grams.

This would be perfect for any Dolphin or Porpoise lover. If you are a Miami Dolphins fan, this would be the perfect accessory to wear to the next game to show your support. It is also a great addition to your collection of Mexican jewelry.
