Item description for Star Snake Pendant Necklace Pentagram Sterling Silver Douglas Brett

This is an interesting pendant necklace called “Star Snake” by the California artist Douglas Brett. He is a sculptor who creates with metals, including gold, silver and bronze. He also makes wearable art jewelry. He lives in San Francisco, California and has been creating artwork for over 35 years and has sold his pieces worldwide. I did contact him to ask what the metal content of this necklace is since it isn’t marked and his response was “it is sterling silver and they are all marked the same way. I don’t stamp my silver, my signature is its authenticity of design”. His website is modernlifedesigns.com/products.htm. The large size in Sterling Silver sells for $145 on his website.

He created this design of a snake configured with an abstract pentagram (Christian symbol) and a hexagram (Jewish symbol – Star of David). It is also a 9 pointed star, the Bahai symbol of the 9 great religions of the world. You can read the full story behind this pendant on Doug’s website.

The pendant measures 1 ½ inches in diameter, which is considered the large size on his website, which sells for $145.00. The leather cord goes easily over the head and is approximately 26 inches in length. The pendant is signed on the back Star Snake 2001 and has his initials on the front with the © symbol. It weighs .90 ounces on my postage scale, which converts to 25.51 grams.

The necklace is in excellent condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. Please look at the pictures as they are part of the description and show the details better than I can describe.

This would be a nice addition to anyone’s collection of Snake or Figural Jewelry. It is sure to bring many compliments and is a great conversation starter.
