This is a fantastic vintage brooch or pin by Florenza, which is the mark of Dan Kasoff, Inc., New York. The Florenza name with the copyright mark was used from 1955 to 1981. This brooch depicts crossed battle axes with a Rampant Lion shield in the center. Across the lion is a banner with three stars. The details are quite amazing on this ornate brooch, even to the markings on the edges. It measures approximately 2 1/2 inches long and 1 1/2 inches tall. This was most likely from the 1960s. It is marked on the back “FLORENZA ©”.

It is in good vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. There is some wear to the gold finish where the silver shows through, but it gives it a great old patina. Looking at the brooch without magnification you barely see any finish loss. The pin on the back is bent (see pictures with arrows), but it still closes with the rollover clasp.

This will not only look great on a man's kilt, but would make a great brooch or scarf pin for any woman. Perfect for anyone interested in Heraldry or a participant in a Renaissance Fair, this just has that chivalrous knight look to it.
