Antique pewter basin marked with a crown and rose with words London. Although we believe the piece was made in England it would not be far fetched too say it is made in the US and marked as if it was English since in the late 18 and early 19th century this was all the rage. The basin measures ~3 7/8" in diameter at the base, ~6 5/8" in diameter at the top, and the piece is ~2" high. The basin weighs about one pound. It is in good condition. The piece is from mid to late 1800s and is rather substantial and very well made and shows the lath marks on the bottom of the base. It has a small crack at the rim which we show in several of the photos. It is great looking and has a beautiful silver look. The basin was obviously cleaned to give it its original look and when it was cleaned it revealed some deep and dark scratches on the bottom of the inside which can be seen in the 5th photo. The bowl is intact with no breaks or repairs. It has many scratches and multiple small and relatively shallow. Be that as it may, the piece is nice and would make a great addition to your collection. Please see photo for additional condition information.
