This is a lovely vintage double strand choker necklace from Japan. It is made of graduated beads in two different shades of shiny and matte metallic bronze or brown tones. The beads are coated with a metallic bronze finish. The beads graduate larger towards the center. The large beads in the front are just under 1 inch across. This was probably from the 1950s to early 1960s.

This necklace is hand strung and tied with string. The round box clasp has a gold tone back. Japan is marked on the insert section of the clasp (see photos). It measures approximately 16 inches in length (the shortest strand). The long strand is just over 17 inches. Because it is a choker necklace make sure that the 16 inches will fit around your neck.

It is in very good vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. There is some light wear consistent with age, to the bronzed finish on a couple of the beads. You don't really see it without magnification and definitely not when you are wearing it.

This is a classic statement necklace that is sure to be noticed. It will be enjoyed for many years to come.
