This is a lovely oval wood and molded celluloid flower brooch. The coral and beige or tan colors of the intricate 3-D baby's breath style flowers really stand out against the natural light golden brown or oak wood background and give it great depth. The flowers look as though they were individually carved there is so much detail. The brooch measures approximately 2 5/8 inches wide and 1 5/8 inches tall and ½ inch thick. I believe this is from the 1930s to 1940s when Celluloid plastic was so popular because of the ability to create such fine detail.

It is in great vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. All the flowers are intact. It has a secure roll over safety clasp style pin back that is mounted to the wood. There is a slight bend to the pin (see photos as they are part of the description). I don't know if the pin is original to the brooch or not because of the mounting hole on the back.

This would be a stunning accessory for a shawl, cape or heavy scarf. A perfect gift for anyone who loves flowers, gardening and vintage wood jewelry.
