This is an unusual 3 dimensional Rhinoceros Lapel Pin or Tie Tack. The Rhino stand easily on it's own and is double sided, the back is finished and is as realistic as the front (see photos). This was purchased in the 1980s to match some other animal pins as a grouping. It appears to be brass, it is not signed. The brooch or pin has amazing details. It measures approximately 1 1/4 inches long and 3/4 of an inch tall.
It is in excellent vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. I have not found another one of this quality in my searches, although there are some that are similar, they don't have the dimensional appearance that this one does, most have a hollow back. It has a butterfly or military clutch back type fastener for a secure grip. The clutch grips the pin post after the pin has been pushed through the garment, perfect for a jacket lapel, dress, sweater, or hat.
