More details about this itemDEATH IN THE AFTERNOON Facsimile dust jacket for the first edition book by Ernest Hemingway; NO Book, facsimile dust jacket ONLY! A truly great book on bullfighting, and my personal favorite of all Ernest Hemingway book. Probably the best book written on the subject, for sure by an American, in my opinion. Others will have their opinions on this controversial activity. I read this book when I was 11 years old. Facsimile dust jacket for the 1932 Scribner's first edition. No book is included, only the beautiful dust jacket with the wonderful Roberto Domingo cover design. This large facsimile dust jacket will also fit some of the later very early editions, which are in black cloth with the spine printed in gold and Ernest Hemingway's name stamped on gold on the front. If your book measured 9-3/8" in height it should fit it. This is a large dust jacket for a large heavy book. Putting this dust jacket on your book will draw attention, great for display, great for protecting your bullfighting book. The original dust jacket was digitally scanned restored from an original by artist John Anthony Miller and has been trimmed, enclosed in a Mylar jacket protector. It has been printed with archival inks on 120GSM paper. The dark yellow area shown on the cover and spine of this small photo has the very tiny red dot screening overlaying the pale yellowish colored paper, found in the original book jacket. This is a quality dust jacket, printed by the hand of the artist, each done individually. The jacket has "Facsimile Dust Jacket" tastefully printed on the rear jacket flap and has the monogram of "JAM" at the bottom of the rear jacket flap and "Facsimile Dust Jacket" "John Anthony Miller Studio." Additionally, this dust jacket has a permanent label affixed to the VERSO of the jacket (or will be personally signed only in number 2 pencil by the artist, John Anthony Miller) stating that it is a facsimile dust jacket and signed by John Anthony Miller. These are marked as such to prevent reselling the book with this jacket as a book with an original dust jacket. -J. A.
