Sunbeam Mixmaster Model 9, Made in USA 1947, and 50 similar items
More details about this itemAmerican icon, Sunbeam Mixmaster Model 9, Made in the USA in 1947. The Sunbeam Mixmaster was the cream of the crop from the 1930's to the 1960's. Ten Speeds. Metal Base (Bakelite Base came out in 1950). No fins. (Fins on the "rocket" shape came out in 1950.) 1947 Model 9 had the newer style decal like this one (the older decal was shield shape). Two holes in base for positioning the bowl. (Lever for this came in a later model.) Size: Mixmaster about 13 inches tall; base 11 inches deep. Mixing Bowl: Large size, about 9 inches diameter, 4.5 inches tall. Heavy! This Mixmaster bowl weighs over 12 pounds unpacked. Condition: Scuffs and paint loss commensurate with its age. All the parts move freely. It still works. I did not run it a long time, but the motor works, the beaters lock in and turn like they are supposed to. Large heavy glass mixing bowl is in excellent condition, has no chips or cracks. The round metal tray has lost some of its paint. The rivet on one of the beaters has come apart. The other beater still has its original plastic tip to help turn the bowl. (The plastic tip on one of the beaters was another new feature of the Model 9.) This Mixmaster is a good candidate for a restoration. Shipping will be calculated for your location. USPS Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation.
