More about this item

5 lbs (5 POUNDS / ~2268 grams / 2.26 kilos) of powdered inner purple/pink root bark of the Mimosa Hostilis / Tenuiflora shrub. Mexican. Raw, unroasted, and super-fresh (really really fresh).

Harvested with love and care in Mexico, dried outdoors, powdered, shipped to us via express mail, and then vacuum sealed for freshness on the day of arrival.

Makes a beautiful purple / pink dye depending on the amount used, the dyeing time, and so on. Experiment with it & send us a picture of any of the fabric you dye!

THANK-YOU ALL MANY BLESSINGS TO YOU ALL! smiley

We have plenty of stock & are currently shipping same or next day from Arizona - delivery in 2-3 days!

Mexican vs Brazilian Mimosa

There is a lot of debate about which country produces the superior Mimosa. Many say that the Mexican is more potent, producing a much deeper purple dye. Others prefer the Brazilian because it is double sifted, thus removing more of the root fibers. We believe that both barks are quite similar - the real issue is freshness - how long has the Mimosa been sitting around, when was it harvested, how has it been stored, etc. If anything, the Mexican bark is a little fresher, by a week or two. This is because it only takes 1 week for the Mexican bark to arrive with us vs 2-3 weeks for the Brazilian.

We receive multiple shipment from Mexico EVERY WEEK - if you want to see the international tracking numbers, just ask! On the day of arrival it is packaged into compostable paper bags, then vacuum sealed in plastic (recyclable), and then stored it in the dark. People have commented on how they love our packaging. Our entire stock is recycled/sold every 7-14 days. Stock is sold on a first-in first-out basis. So the bark that comes in on a Monday is mostly all gone by the middle of the following week. We keep enough overage to cover expected orders for 2 weeks as well as the occasional problem with US customs (it happens quite frequently unfortunately).

This stocking situation is a far different from the older days where vendors might have had their bark sitting on the shelf for months.

At the moment, the Mimosa we sell on Bonanza is Mexican. We sell the Brazilian bark on our website.

Shipping

We ship the SAME OR NEXT BUSINESS DAY from Arizona! Shipping is FREE anywhere in the USA via USPS with delivery confirmation. Orders up to 1 lb ship via USPS first class - usual delivery is 2-3 days. Orders over 1lb ship via USPS Priority Mail with delivery confirmation, arriving in 2-3 days (usually 2). Orders valued over $250 are shipped with signature confirmation (this is required by Google Checkout).

If you need it really really fast, we can ship via USPS Express Mail. You must contact us first! $15 for amounts up to and including 1lb,  $30 for 2lbs to 5lbs, $50 for 6 lbs to 20 lbs. This is usually next day delivery to most locations that aren't super-rural. To make sure you get it next day you have to order early in the day, as the cut-off here for express mail is 1PM. We need time to pack your order, and sometimes we are not around in the mornings, so please call us first to make sure. Also, bonanza doesn't have an option for us to offer free shipping & paid express shipping, so we have to send you an invoice for the extra.

Payment

Debit or credit card via Google Checkout (the default option - usually the fastest and easiest method)
- Uses your existing google/gmail account if you already have one. also accepts prepaid debit cards and visa gift cards. This is the only pay-for-it-right-now payment method we accept on Bonanza.

Paypal
You can pay via paypal if you like, but not automatically - we have to send you an invoice. To use paypal, choose "money order" when you checkout and then email us for a paypal invoice.

Moneybookers.com / Skrill
Choose money order and email us for an invoice.

Money Order / Personal Check
Money orders are fine, as are personal checks. This is the slowest option as they have to clear before we can ship. Choose money order at checkout and we will send you all the details.

Western Union / Moneygram
Western Union and Moneygram are fine, but remember they do charge a fee to the sender. Choose money order at checkout and we will send you the details.

Refunds

More details in the next section (guarantee & promise), but here are the basics:
Refunds available within 14 days of you taking delivery of the Mimosa. The package must still be sealed in its vacuum packaging. If it has been opened, please talk to us! We know that you can't see the Mimosa until you open it up, so if you really have a problem with it then do contact us first. We are all about super-fresh bark, and opened packages are not so super-fresh anymore. Unless we made some terrible and unlikely error, we can't pay for your return shipping. No restocking fee. Please contact us if you have any problems!

To ask about a return, please call and/or leave a message at 520-445-3221, message us via bonanza, or reply to the thank-you email that we sent when you ordered.

our deepest blessings to you all!
