Superb Art Deco Bronze Copper Antique Desk Lamp

This is an extremely beautiful lamp in shades of bronze and copper. It takes two light bulbs (one is there, and fully functional), has a switch on the base and an electric cord which must have been replaced in the 60s.


It stands about 18” tall and the shade span is 19”. Heavy, molded base and felt lining underneath, this spectacular lamp is marked: "Portable Electric Standard Lamp; 301; Gas-Tube Type; etc. Made probably in Canada according to the stamp.


The patina on this lamp is unmatched: it has not been cleaned, and retains rich tones of bronze and shades of copper. Detailing in the two-tone bronze/copper on the sides of the shade are stunning, and so is the deep incised pattern on the stem and the gorgeous, bulbous medallion in the back of the shade.
