Antique BING WERKE Germany - RARE - Mohair TEDDY BEAR - 55 cm (22 inches) - c1927 to 1932
This GORGEOUS teddy bear was made by Gebruder Bing, known as Bing-Werke after 1919. He dates from between 1927 to 1932 as per his original blue tin button clamped to his wrist. The last form of ID used by Bing. They sadly ceased business in 1932. Happily, the Gebruder Bing Company was reborn in 1994, after discovering original Teddy Bear patterns from the old company, carefully preserved by a descendent. This teddy's button's blue & black surface is partially worn but you can still read "Germany" and see the "BW" mark.
He is a BIG BOY standing 55 cm (22 inches) and he has been lovingly restored. I believe his felt paw pads have been replaced, & his shaved muzzle has been stitched overtop of his original nose, to give him his impressive proud profile back. This was only discovered by looking closely where you can see small even hand stitches around the perimeter & Bing usually does the muzzle with the sides of the head in once piece. His black nose & claws have been restitched. He has near full light blonde mohair coverage with just some thinning around his toes, & he has a small matched mohair patch on one ankle - its nearly undetectable! Very professionally done. He has a non-working growler. Of course, he is fully jointed.
He is in very good to excellent pre-owned restored clean antique condition!!!
Teddy would be a great addition to your HUG (collection) or would make a wonderful gift for a collector - EXTREMELY RARE!!
