From the 1920's, made in Canada is this Cream Top spoon. The Cream Top Bottle Corporation developed a special milk bottle with a bulb type neck for the rising cream to gather and could then be easily scooped out with this spoon. The advertisment spoon was distributed by the Cream Top Bottle licensed dairymen who then gave the spoons to their customers. It has a swan like curve that allows it to hang from the bottle mouth and scoop down into the cream top bottle to lift out the cream. The pointed end was used as a milk cap remover. It also has two patent dates imprinted on it: Sept 2nd, 1924 and Mar 3rd, 1925. This antique spoon is made of base metal and shows minimal wear for its age. It measures 4L with the bowl being about 1.25W. The handle is .75 at widest.
