This fireplace trammel is 42 inches long and extends to 64 inches and is functional. It was used in a large fireplace for the hanging of cranes, ,cookware and kettles. it weighs 7 pounds. It is 8H x 6W. The cast iron is unrusted. There is one insignificant one quarter inch gap in the iron and a casting deficit that are original. The hearthware has 20 one inch teeth. This is American made, blacksmith forged, unsigned, and an authentic original antique of the colonial period in excellent shape.
