This is a wonderful piece of commorating one of NASA's most historic missions.
Apollo 13 had drastic problems in space and it was not certian if they would make it home.
This medal is to mark the safe return of the Astronauts; James Lovell, John Swigert & Fred Haise, Jr.
The front depicts the orbiter, in the hands of God, the lunar lander and the three man crew; with the inscription "They were in his hands". The back dipicts the rescue by the USS Iwo Jima from the splash down site. With the date April 11-17 1970.
This is in supurb condition with no apparent scratches or damage.
