Palace del Consiglio at Verona, 8,9. Palace Urbino. The Doges' Palace was a municipal center and residence in the former Venetian Republic. The present palace dates from the early 14th century. After being damaged by fire on several occasions, the interior was decorated by leading Venetian artists of the 16th century, including Titian, Tintoretto, and Paolo Veronese. S. Maria della Grazie is a Renaissance church erected by the Dominicans from 1465 to 1490 was finished by Bramante. The interior (now restored), is adorned with frescoes by Gaudenzio Ferrari in the fourth chapel on the right, and the impressive dome, gallery and cloisters all by Bramante. Vendramin Palace is one of the fine examples of Italian Renaissance architecture. The Venetian palace exemplifies the typical features of Venetian palaces. Its Italian name is Palazzo Vendramin-Calergi (built c. 1500-09), it is the work of architect Coducci. It features large and numerous windows, and is more open than the palaces found in central Italy -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Martin2001 Satisfaction Guaranteed Policy ! TURKEY Trebizond on Black Sea - 1887 Wood Engraving

Full star smallFull star smallFull star smallFull star smallFull star small

This old engraving has substantiated and stimulated a recent interest of mine; this physical thing now hangs in front of my reading chair, and I have found the digital copy of the charming old book from which it was cut (VOYAGES AND TRAVELS OR SCENES IN MANY LANDS VOLUME
de Colange, Leo (Ed.)).
Published by E.W. Walker, Boston, MA (1887))
I recommend enjoying some of the 19th century paintings under "Trabzon in art" in commons.wikipedia., which is where I first discovered this one. In some of these it is the artists viewpoint of serious (not ) peacefulness that I especially enjoy, and now this is substantiated, in front of my reading chair.
