This Japanese native species of Japanese Maple has delicate and sweeping foliage. The leaf coloration presents in multiple shades and nuances of green. New leaf growth is often tinged with red coloration. The plant overall has a graceful, naturally artistic form. This beauty belies the hardiness of the plant. It is surprisingly hardy as an understory tree in most of the country, including the south. It does demand shade and good drainage, but once established is hardy and requires only modern moisture.
The Japanese native is viable and thrives in USDA zones 5 through 9 when provided shelter from wind and given shade. This Japanese Maple has served as the parentage of dozens of exciting new species Japanese Maples.
This offer is for 3 (Three) Green Japanese Maple Shohin Pre-Bonsai Seedlings. All are in their third season from seed and all have sported 2 or more leaves. The plants are 6 to 8" above the soil line. Some are branched. They are an ideal size for bonsai training.
Note: Japanese Maples often experience leaf impact from sun and heat. As cool weather returns in the fall, the tree will often produce new leaf before becoming dormant. for the winter. The removal of all but minimal leaf matter is standard procedure in the establishment of a bonsai plant.

The seedlings will be removed from the grower's tub and as much soil as possible removed. The roots will be wrapped in dampened material and encased in plastic to ensure moisture during shipping.
