It has three volumes (paperbacks) in set.

Box set is approx 4 inch x 6 1/2 inch x 2 5/8 inch.

Box does have some wear and a small rip at opening edge.

Books have edge wear and show age, and pages are yellowing due to age, but all books are in good condition.

Vol 1: The Prairie years. 320 pages with eight pages of pictures..

Vol 2: The War Years 1861-1864 = 443 pages

Vol 3: The War Years 1864-1865 =903 pages plus index pages
