Carved Pre-Ban Ivory Cigarette Holder Tip with ebony inlay carved of one piece
Hand carved in Germany / late 19th Century
An elegant, beautiful, sleek, clean
genuine Pre-Ban Elephant IVORY Cigarette Holder
THIS is Elephant IVORY !! no Mammoth, no what-ever-bone
and will not be on the market anymore
Length: 3.2 inches
This one too comes from my family's heritage
Elephant is not allowed to be processed anymore to protect the Elephant population
carvers only work with mammoth, which may be called 'ivory' too - however, it looks different
So, don't get mixed up and recognize when you get the REAL deal- genuine ELEPHANT IVORY,
that will NOT be processed anymore
The price of genuine is going UP so - take advantage now!
For you to grab is another opportunity to get a vintage IVORY Piece made in the 19th Century,
that would make a perfect GIFT!! Or even better: keep it for yourself
For cleaning? Just use some soft soap and warm water!
It's in very good vintage condition, has 3 tiny cracks around the ebony
which is actually very normal, given the age - Ivory is sensitive to wheter changes too
Please, buy with confidence:
My own father was an ivory carver - (yup, really!)
That might be evidence that I know 'a little' what is all about!
With age turns a little more yellow - that's natural!
can be cleaned with a little soft soap and warm water,
you even can lay it in sunshine for a gentle bleaching
In nature is in sunshine all the time!
Ivory is a hard, white, opaque substance that is the bulk of the teeth and tusks of
some animals such as elephant, hippopotamus, walrus, mammoth, etc
Prior to the introduction of plastics, it was used for billiard balls, piano keys,
buttons and ornamental items
The word "ivory" was traditionally applied to the tusks of elephants
In June of 1997 the ban on ivory trade was lifted under CITES guidelines
and then agreed upon by its member countries
Nothing really comes close or compares with beauty of ivory
and was admired for centuries by caesars, czars, kings and queens
Thanks for checking in and please consider such a great offer!
!! It IS just beautiful !!
