Some Information on the history of the collection:
Originally manufactured by Christmas Eve, Inc. and then in later years by Christmas Reproductions, Inc., this unique collection portrays Santa Claus through the years. Inspired by chocolate molds, advertisements and Antique postcards, these highly detailed figurines portray Santa from his origin as St. Nicholas to how we know him today as Jolly Ole' Santa Claus.
Though Santa Claus has surely changed over the years, from his garments to his country of origin, the Story of St. Nicholas and the spirit he brought to Christmas has remained consistent and has maintained interest and excitement as Santa Claus today.
Each figure in the Collection is made of earthenware, one of the oldest materials used to make ceramics.
The earthenware itself is created using a mixture of koalin, quartz, and feldspar and is then fired at over 2000 degrees Fahrenheit. Each piece is then individually hand painted, and given a stain wash to highlight the fine details of each Santa.
The Earthenware collection was produced from 1983 to 2002. and was comprised of 139 Santa's. At the time of listing I have 39 to sell and three that need restoring.
