Large, authentic, Cream of Wheat Wooden Advertising Shipping Crate, circa 1940. Excellent used condition and a lovely potential primitive or country and historical home decor item.
All sides are shown in photos. All panels are well attached. Occasional slivers in wood and some bumps. If you zoom in on the photos, you will be able to see any minimal defects. Colors of type are bright and very readable. Font is especially attractive.
One end side has its partial paper label. The other end is blank.
Measurements are approx. 25" long, 17-1/2" wide, 8" deep.
This crate came from the Kimball Bros. General Store, formerly of Briggsville, Wisconsin. I know this to be true because I personally received the box out of the store when I was cleaning out the store for a new owner. The building now sits empty, and history is being lost just like in many small towns.
Kimball's General Store was where people from all over the area "traded" for generations before the big stores came in. It was also served as the local post office and up stairs was the community's mortuary.

Ships UPS Ground with Insurance. To ship this package, I will need your street address (no P.O. boxes) and to know whether I'm shipping to a residence or a business. UPS will also require your phone number because of the value of the crate.
