5 1/2 inches in diameter at the bottom
4 3/4 inches in diameter at the top
I don't know the age of this piece.
Creamy White glaze with Orange, Purple and Green Fruits
Vines and Leaves. Yellow Gold swirls among the Fruits and Vines.
The inside of the pitcher is the same Creamy White Glaze.
All of these pieces are handpainted.
I have done some research about this piece but cannot find the pattern name.
Originally a muralist well-known for classic scenes of colonial life in Portugal and Brazil,
Salvador settled in the village of Itaipava and started his ceramic business in 1952. He's
especially known for the elegant simplicity of his flowers and leaves.
Each ceramic piece is still formed by hand and each form is finished and fired by the kiln master.
The artists studio to this day, serves as a school where master painters work beside their apprentices.
