Rina Sutzkever was born in Moscow in 1945. Her father, the poet Abraham Sutzkever was always surrounded by friends who were painters or sculptors, and his close friend, Marc Chagall, illustrated several ofhis works. The Sutzkevers immigrated to Israel in 1948. Rina Sutzkever's start as a professional artist began when she worked with Nahum Gilboa, the painter. She continued working iwth Moshe Rozenthalis where she developed a realistic style faithful to nature. She studied with Professor Schwartzman and participated in solo and group exhibitions. Her works include portraits and still-lifes, are very reminiscent of seventeenth century Dutch painting. She studied further in Vienna, to work and perfect her Tempera-Oil technique. She is a well known artist and a member of the Painters Union in Tel Aviv, Israel. Her paintings are found in many private collections and institutions throughout Israel and abroad.
