FREE SHIPPING! Antique Gone With The Wind Lamp Pink Satin Pittsburgh Glass c. 1901 P.L. B. Co. (The Pittsburgh Lamp, Brass Glass Company) Often affectionately known as 'Pilabrasgo' well known for their satin glass produced in one of 3 Pennsylvania locations: Pittsburgh, Swissvale and Jeanette! Although electrified most components of the burner, fuel tank and ornate fount are retained for a perfect Victorian lamp! Rare, sought after early fount with fancy air intake holes and unmarked wick knob. Fuel fill cap marked 'SUCCESS' 'P.L. B. Co.' Gorgeous pink satin lower glass fount with raised floral. Beautiful satin ball shade with colorful hand painted pink, blue and yellow floral; portions of paint are raised. Ornate flat square footed base! The lower pink satin glass fount and off-white satin shade are a good marriage as the pink floral matches the pink glass obviously an all pink shade was lost at some point. The lower pink satin glass fount has a partial crack, facing the back. Sturdy not loose. There is tarnish and wear to the brass. Wiring is safe and tested. Ball shade and clear glass chimney have no damage. This came from the estate of Betty and Alexander Mcpherson; met in World War II and married 1942. He was a dashing Army Air Corps pilot! Betty served in a medical capacity her entire career. He spent 2 years ferrying Fighter Planes until he was assigned to the China-Burma-India theatre and flew 86 dangerous missions over the 'Hump'. After 2 years in Tokyo they wound up at McCoy Air Force Base Orlando (now Orlando International Airport) and remained in Orlando to retirement. This lamp can be seen in the background of one of the obituary photo memorials. Shipping includes BRAND NEW HEAVY DUTY BOX and BRAND- NEW BUBBLE WRAP. Double walled boxes have corner crush certification. Although expensive helps ensure as-pictured delivery while avoiding disappointment and damage to an historical item. Thanks For Looking!
