Traditional, True Vintage German Stoneware Pitcher (or Jug) and small Mugs. Frequently used in autumn for apple wine (apfelwein), this set, directly from Germany, is a limited edition, #1 of 3600 (marked 3600/1). The light bluish-grey stoneware with cobalt hand painting is done in a traditional German style. The pitcher is known regionally as an "ebbelwoi bembel."
Pottery marking is a C with a W inside of it. Two of the mugs show small paint spots on the interior which do not detract from the set's beauty or utility.
The pitcher holds approx. 1 qt. fluid, the mugs approx. 3 oz. each. The pitcher is approx 8-1/2" tall; mugs approx. 3" tall.
This set is a minimum of 30-35 years old, as it was brought to the U.S. by my parents from a Germany vacation in the mid-1970s. This set is unused as it was a display decoration for the years my parents had it.
This set will be double packed and insured for protection of your investment.
