Bought directly from the artist in New York in 1993 (there are no doubts of authenticity - painting was purchased by our business partner and was in his possession since the date of acquisition)

Information on the artist:  "Francis Paraison migrated to the United States of America twenty four years ago from Haiti. His interests in art began at a very young age, and he attributed this to the fact that his mother always had art around the house, and a garage full of them. He began painting and selling them as early as the age of seven (7). He then had some professional training at "The French Institute of Haiti"; he resided in Carnarsie Brooklyn and had about four (4) rooms full of his exotic paintings. Mr. Paraison had traveled to many parts of the world including France. England, Japan, Switzerland and Germany where he has displayed and sold many fine pieces of art . He has also been featured or mentioned in numerous publications both here in the US and in many of the countries he has traveled to including "The New Yorker" Magazine January, 18th 1988"

Mr. Paraison was fond of saying about his homeplace, Haiti: "I paint my land, my country as I see it." He passed away in 2001.

His paintings were selling in 2000 between $7,000 - 30,000 and are now worth more since his passing.
