More about this item

In The World 9: On The Taconic and Near Baghdad, is the ninth in my series "In The World." I hope the paintings evoke connection, and maybe a strong feeling in the viewer. This contrasts a view off the Taconic Parkway, New York, and an Iraqi man tending sheep near Baghdad. The contrast is now the serene lands compared with the terror from the sky in Iraq. A US helicopter is involved in a raid on a nearby village. The Iraq scene is based on a press photo by Jacob Silberberg.

This is 24 (h) by 30 (w) inches, acrylic on stretched canvas on heavy duty stretchers, with painted sides. A frame is not necessary.

The painting is signed and dated on the back. I send a letter of provenance which increases the value of the work. All my artwork is copyrighted by Eleanor Gilpatrick. Copyright is nontransferable through the purchase of artwork.
