*1/2 cup starter tea (prepared k-tea)

Please be advised - your kombucha mushroom will come floating in the starter tea, in the double-bagged freezer bags. SO DO NOT DISCARD THE LIQUID. :-)

They are great for straining out spent yeast cells that form while brewing k-tea. They also help strain the kefir and separate the grains.
