Just when your eyes have become accustomed to the streaks of blue in the Kyanite and the crystal blue of the faceted Topaz you catch a glance, or thought you did, of a blue strobe shooting towards you. That is when you realize the full impact of this sterling silver adjustable choker. The lovely white gem stone you had been thinking was a nice accent gem turns out to be Blue Flash Moonstone in all its beauty. Who ever crafted this necklace must have felt the same way as the gem stones are matched wonderfully. If ever a necklace deserved to be referred to as understated elegance this one is such a piece.

People have said you can't capture lighting in a bottle. That may be true but it is captured in nature in Moonstone. This gem is one of the hardest gem stones to photograph. The reason is that as the stone moves an intense (almost Ghost Buster electric blue) flash can be seen in fleeting glimpses. I have attempted to capture some of the intensity but these pictures in no way do justice to the beauty you will experience when you look at (you'll look a lot at this one) this beautiful necklace. 

The physical dimensions of this breath of fresh air are a choker to necklace adjustable 14-1/2 inches to 17 inches, center portion is 1-1/2 inches long, and the thickness varies from 1/4 inches (6mm) to 3/8 inches (9mm) depending on the gem stone. It weighs in at a feathery 3.40 ounces (96 grams). Opps I just realized I forgot to mention the sterling silver that holds the stones together,.forming this lovely necklace, is massive. There is approaching 3 ounces of sterling in the necklace.

Due to the large amount of sterling silver perhaps this is an item of jewelry that will appreciate as it is worn and appreciated.
