They are compatible with the original ink cartridges for Epson Stylus Photo RX500 printer, have a 3 year shelf life. I have been using this type for more than 2 years, never a problem. I have just ordered them in January 2011 and my printer of 5 years broke down for good in February. I got another printer so I'd hate the idea of those perfectly good cartridges to waste.
