Green Ice Miniature Rose is a modern miniature tea rose developed by Moore in 1971. Since that time, this petite shrub has proven to a hardy, perpetual bloomer in the landscape as well as a stellar container plant.
The white mutating to green blooms are a miniature duplicate of the large tea roses of today without the time and care investment. The initial bud color is pure white and only a tinge of green is evident in the mature bloom. Blooms are double-petaled, approximately 1" in size and often cover a mature plant throughout the growing season.
This is a small scale shrub that seldom grows more than 18" at maturity and seldom gets wider than 12" at the base. The leaves are petite as well and are an dark green coloration. The rose requires little maintenance beyond an annual compost application to promote blooming.
The plant is hardy across a wide range of habitats and is listed as viable in USDA zones 5a through 10b in normal gardening soil. It grows on it's own roots and should be mulched in the more southern range of the zones against heat.
Excellent for Fairy Gardens, Miniature Railroading or used as a blooming gift in a container.
