You will receive a THE OLD CURIOSITY music box, based on Charles Dickens story. Features old curiosity shop ontop a wood basing. Measures approximately 5.5" height by 7" inches width in overall size. Depth is about 3" inches. Dated 1986. Used, but in very good condition or better. Music box was tested and is fully functional.
I'll do my very best to describe this item. I don't know too much about the item, other than the research on the internet. Based on my research it seems to be a rare, if not then, hard to find collectible item.
***NOTABLE ISSUES: out of box, no original packaging. no certificate of authenticity(if it came with one). Very minor paint wear, but not too serious. On the bottom of the wood base there is a dark circle-like patch. I think there used to be a retail sticker that fell off, but its just a guess.
On the front of the music box it shows the name of the old curiosity shop, immortalized by charles dickens. No box, but has original retail tag. On the retail tag it says 'OLD LONDON COLLECTION' hand-made in england. Apparently, there is more of these music boxes in reference to charles dickens series. I'm just selling this one music box of OLD CURIOSITY SHOP. Inside the tag, it reveils alittle history about the charles dickesn curiosity shop, as well as, the other music boxes in this series. See image I posted for best results.
On the bottom of the music box it has the turn key, but also original sticker tags. On the white sticker tag it says, 'PR40 DICKENS CURIOSITY SHOPPE' created by Pauline Ralph in Devon, England. Copyright 1986. Also on the bottom, the red sticker says 'REUGE' english country garden. Swiss musical movement.
On the back there is a lever, where you can turn the music on/off as so desired. So, the music box doesn't have to be played all the way thru, you can pause the music.
The music box actually opens up to reveal a small storage area. The storage area is lined with velvet on the bottom, surrounded in wood. The storage area measures approximately 2.75" width x 6" length x 0.75" depth.
I'm not totally sure what the specific materials are used in the production of this item. I'm going to make a best guesstimate..... The roof feels like a ceramic type of material. The actual building portion and bottom base feel like a wood type of material. Sorry, that is the best I can do to describe the items material portion.
Any questions, feel free to ask and I'll do my best to help out.
Basically what you see in the images, is what the buyer will receive. Nothing else included.
