7 -inch "Winged Victory" Vase
Soft Pink Glaze

A charming pink vase that I believe is described as Hywood Castware, Niloak mark, in a shape called "Winged Victory" designed by Joe Alley for Niloak (shown on pages 246-47 of Gifford's Collector's Encyclopedia of Niloak; I'm not sure if the pink color has a name, but it's the same shade as the lighter pink pieces shown on page 277).

This vase is in very good condition. There are some firing chips on the bottom foot ring, which I've tried to show from various angles in the enlarged photos at top. There are no other chips or cracks or crazing. The vase measures 7 inches high at the rim, and about 5.5 inches wide across the handles.

It is marked on the bottom with a faint but clear raised "Niloak" mark.
