These jars are still perfectly good for home canning or food storage.
Obear-Nester Glass Longlife Mason Canning Jars
Marked on bottom Obear-Nester Glass 76 and 16A
One side marked in script lettering "Longlife" and block letters "Mason."
The other side embossed with image of fruit and vegetables in a circle.
The third side is embossed with ounces and cups measurement lines.
Rounded square shape. Use standard modern metal ring type lids, regular size.
The "76" on the bottom indicates that this jar was made in 1976.
Obear-Nester Glass was located in East St. Louis, Illinois.
The plant was bought out by Indian Head (textile company) in 1967
and finally closed its doors on 31 December 1978.
Atlas Mason Square Quart Canning Fruit Jars
Marked on bottom with "B" in a circle.
These are made like the antique canning jars originally made by Hazel Atlas.
These are newer versions of the jars, however, made by another company.
Brockway Glass Company after 1964.
Brockway Glass was purchased by Owens-Illinois, Inc. in 1988.
Use standard modern metal ring type lids, regular size.
Size: about 6.75 inches tall; 3.5 inches diameter; 32 ounces capacity.
Condition: Excellent. No chips or cracks.
